My Story

My name is Cynthia Lewis, the founder of Cynthia Lewis Unlimited, LLC, and the creator of She Thrives in Business and the Kingdom Biz Chic movement.  I am passionate about business, and empowering women to create success on their own terms through building their business.  I absolutely LOVE helping women to win in business. 

Back in 2001, I started a highend lingerie boutique in Houston, Texas.  In 2002, I launched my lingerie boutique physically inside of the Trading Fair Flea Market near 610 South Loop in Houston, Texas.  I did this as a way to help me to create my path to freedom from my 9 to 5, but I failed miserably.  

You see I did everything I thought I needed to do to launch, build, and grow my highend lingerie boutique. I filed my DBA, setup my sales tax account, managed my Myspace page, secured the space in the flea market, purchased the carpet and had it laid, painted the space, decorated the space, purchased the lingerie inventory, added the prices to the inventory, and stocked the inventory on the floor of my boutique.  But what I didn't do is study and do my homework on who my clients were, where did they hang out, did they have the money to purchase my product, and why would they want to purchase highend lingerie from me.  I didn't market my boutique and products to let people know I was there because I lacked confidence in myself. Also, I just didn't know how to market my business nor my products.

I received some sales but not consistently.  I was at a flea market operating my business, and people that were interested in my lingerie wanted to purchase it at a discount cost.  I couldn't stay in business not earning consistent income.  Often times the monthly lease was paid by my husband and I from I personal income because there was not enough income being earned from the business.  I ended up closing the doors to my business.

Discouraged and disappointed by my failure, I wanted to know how to build and grow a successful business.  I went on to finish my AA Degree from Houston Community College - Southeast, and then pursued and completed my BBA Degree in Marketing from Texas Southern University - Jesse H. Jones School of Business.  I also invested in a business entrepreneurship program and took other courses to provide me with the education I needed to support myself and others to build and grow a successful business. 

As a way to heal from my failure, I launched my business coaching and personal development firm, Cynthia Lewis Unlimited, LLC, so I could help Christian Business Women and Entrepreneurs to confidently build and grow thriving businesses regardless if they were new to business, emerging in business, or established in business.  My brand, She Thrives in Business, and the Kingdom Biz Chic movement and the She's Fearless and She's On The Rise Coaching Programs reinforces my over arching goal of helping women to confidently build thriving businesses.
